Description: Transparent liquid of yellow or yellowish color.
Composition: 1.0 ml of the drug contains azithromycin -100.0 mg and excipients.
Indications for use: Respiratory tract infections: sore throat, sinusitis, otitis media, bronchitis; infections of the skin and soft tissues - erysipelas, impetigo (superficial pustular skin lesions with the formation of purulent crusts), secondary infected dermatoses (skin diseases); urinary tract infections.
Pharmacological action: Broad-spectrum antibiotic. It has not only high antimicrobial activity, but also anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects, as well as low toxicity. Gram-positive cocci are sensitive to Azithromycin: Streptococcus pneumoniae, St. pyogenes, St. agalactiae, group CF and G streptococci, Staphylococcus aureus, St. viridans; gram-negative bacteria: Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Bordetella pertussis, B. parapertussis, Legionella pneumophila, H. ducrei, Campylobacter jejuni, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Gardnerella vaginalis; some anaerobic microorganisms: Bacteroides bivius, Clostridium perfringens, Peptostreptococcus spp; also Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Treponema pallidum, Borrelia burgdoferi.
Pharmacokinetics: Azithromycin penetrates well into the respiratory tract, organs and tissues of the urogenital tract, skin and soft tissues. It remains in bactericidal concentrations at the site of inflammation for 5-7 days.
Method of administration and dosage: Azithromycin 10% is used intramuscularly once every 72-96 hours at a dose of 1 ml per 20 kg of body weight (5 mg/kg of active substance) to cattle, horses, pigs, sheep and goats. For dogs and cats for the treatment of infections of mixed etiology at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight (10 mg/kg of active substance).
Contraindications: Increased susceptibility to macrolide antibiotics.
Drug interactions: Incompatible with heparin.
Side effects: Vomiting and flatulence (accumulation of gases in the intestines).
