Description : It is a white or grayish powder.
Composition : 100 g of the drug contains: albendazole - 10 g and auxiliary components.
Pharmacological properties : Albendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic, effective against nematodes, cestodes and trematodes, having an ovicidal effect, reduces the infestation of pastures with helminth eggs. The mechanism of action of the drug is to disrupt metabolism, inhibit the activity of fumarate reductase and the synthesis of the parasite ATP enzyme, which leads to the death of helminths. The drug has low toxicity for warm-blooded animals.
Application : Prescribed for deworming of farm animals and birds, including dictyocaulosis, moniesiosis, bunostomiasis, nematodyrosis, strongylatosis, paramphistomatosis, cooperiosis, esophagostomiasis, habertiosis, ascaridiosis, heteracidosis, dicroceliosis and fasciolosis.
Dosage : The drug is administered orally in a mixture with food. For mammals once, for birds - twice, individually or in groups. For the treatment and prevention of moniesiosis, pulmonary and gastrointestinal nematodes, albendazole 10% is fed to cattle individually at a dose of 75 mg/kg, for chronic fascioliasis - at a dose of 100 mg/kg of animal weight. Albendazole 10% is prescribed to sheep individually or in groups. Against moniesia, pulmonary and intestinal nematodes, the drug is used at a dose of 50 mg/kg of animal weight. For chronic fascioliasis, albendazole is used at a dose of 75 mg/kg, for chronic dicroceliosis - at a dose of 150 mg/kg of animal weight. For the treatment and prevention of ascariasis and esophagostomiasis, albendazole 10% is prescribed to pigs in the morning feeding - with concentrated feed. The drug is weighed at the rate of 100 mg/kg weight. For horses with parascariasis and strongyloidiasis, as well as with mixed invasion, albendazole 10% is prescribed individually, once with food at a dose of 70 mg/kg of animal weight. For birds with ascaridiosis, heterokidosis and mixed infestation, albendazole is prescribed in a group method in a mixture with mixed feed at a dose of 100 mg/kg of bird weight, two days in a row in the morning feeding.
Side effects : Not observed at recommended doses due to low toxicity. Toxic poisoning is possible only in greatly increased quantities.
Contraindications : Albendazole 10% is prohibited for use by animals during the breeding period, pregnant females, as well as weakened, exhausted and patients with infectious diseases.
Cautions : Slaughter of small ruminants and pigs for meat is permitted after 10 days, cattle - after 14 days, poultry - after 5 days after deworming. Milk from dairy animals and eggs from chickens are prohibited from being used for food purposes within 4 days after deworming.
